STORIES OF IMPACT:
SOCIALLY ENGAGED ARTS
ACROSS EUROPE
Across Europe, socially engaged arts organisations are working with communities to confront the past, respond to today’s challenges, and co-create futures where everyone can thrive — grounded in care, solidarity, and collaboration.
Our Stories of Impact series spotlights Fellows working for change in very different contexts. Some are building trust with communities, opening up spaces for people to participate and shape the decisions that affect their lives. Others are bringing together people, organisations and movements to drive change across sectors or advocate for policy reform. What runs through all of it is a shared understanding that how change happens matters as much as what changes, through relationships, sustained presence, and genuine rootedness in everyday lives.
Many of the biggest challenges we face today — from climate change and migration to inequality and social division — don’t have purely technical answers. Socially engaged arts work with the human side of these questions, making room for imagination and collective action.
